Anglers fishing Scottish rivers this spring are heading there with a sense of optimism.
Just about all beats on the Spey from Grantown to the sea recorded fish last week, including 4 up to to 28lbs for anglers fishing Gordon Castle beats.
Several mid-teen fish were caught on the Dee last week, with the best from Borrowston beat at 20lb.
Fishing Junction on Tweed, the Morrison Party had 23 fish for the week up to 16lbs, with 10 of these caught in a single day. Hendersyde beat said "all their fish caught during the week were fresh fish carrying sea lice".
River levels have been reasonably kind during the last month, although rainfall at the start of this week has turned many rivers un-fishable. There are some fantastic spring fishing offers available across the site and worth taking advantage of during the Easter holidays.

Ian Neale reports from the River Findhorn that Altyre Estate and Darnaway have been enjoying some great early season sport with spring fish up to 25lbs recorded.
Tom Brown fishing Altyre got the season up and running on March 3rd with a lovely sea liced fish of around 8lbs. David Tisdale managed another sea liced fish two days later, also from the Roan pool, on his favourite Willie Gunn tube.

Fishing the House Pool on Meikleour and Upper Islamouth under the guidance of his ghillie John Ross, Mr. Moses caught a 13lber in the morning and then a wonderful sea liced 31lb'er in the afternoon (see photograph).
His fish is the largest salmon caught in Scotland so far this year.
