Middle beats continued to dominate catches last week on the River Dee. The three Ballogie beats continued their excellent start to the year with ghillie Sean Stanton delighted in reporting that they had passed 150 for the season, marked in style with a 22lb springer. On the upper river, Ian Murray was rewarded with a 16lb fish on the Garden Pool on the Glen Muick side of the river. Latest FishDee availability.
FishTweed have reported another week of good catches spread throughout the system from Tillmouth up to Tweedswood. Junction are continuing to catch the majority of fish, reporting 115 salmon up to 18lb for March. Lower beats along with Tweed tributaries Whiteadder and Till are now reporting fish. The largest fish in Scotland so far this year has been caught this week by a rod fishing Delfur. The 29 pound springer was caught by a member of Simon Furniss' party from Dunkeld House Fishing. Spey beats are now reporting fish from the lower river to as far up as Grantown Association Water. Latest FishSpey availability.
The strong run of spring salmon continued on the river Tay this week. More mid twenty pound salmon were caught by anglers as the water cleared. The lower river has enjoyed some notable March catches, in particular Taymount's 70 salmon. March also saw the largest Tay salmon so far this year at 27lb on Stobhall, with Meikleour & Islamouth a close second at 26lb. Latest FishTay availability.
