By road

The River Towy is very easily reached by the UK's main trunk roads, being approximately 4 hours from London and 2 hours from Birmingham.

The M4 runs through the bottom of the Towy valley and most of the beats are within 20-30 minutes by car from it. People coming from the south and east via the M4 should get onto the A40 at Carmarthen and head north east west toward Llandeilo and Llandovery. Likewise anglers coming from the north and west should leave the M5 and join the M50 and then the A40 at Ross-on Wye.

By air and rail

If travelling by air the nearest airports are Cardiff, Bristol or Birmingham. All are between one and two hours away from the river by car.

If travelling by train change at either Carmarthen or at Swansea/Llanelli (for Llandeilo).
