Whiteadder Angling Association

The Association controls the brown trout fishing on the upper part of the Whiteadder from the Reservoir high up in the Lammermuir Hills in East Lothian to the Chirnside/Allanton area where the Berwick AA take over the administration of the fishing.

The brown trout average 8oz but specimens of up to 3lb are taken each season. Wet and Dry Fly are the order of the day but on some stretches worm fishing is permitted. The river is easily accessed at various points by car as the road crosses the water at Cranshaws, Ellemford, Abbey St Bathans, Preston, Todheugh, Chirnside and Allanton Bridges.
