Description
Lochlane and Laggan fishings offer some of the very best fly fishing to be found on the River Earn. Although part of the Tay system, it is smaller than the giant River Tay
and as such is a lovely manageable size. The river drops quite a bit in height throughout its length which gives rise to wonderful streams, runs and glides.
The Lochlan and Laggan fishings contain 32 named pools and comprise of 2.1 miles double bank and 0.32 miles single bank. The fishings are located upstream of Crieff in a
spectacular wonderful enchanting picturesque valley called Strathearn. The water has been transformed by the present owners, with improvements to the river banks,
convenience of vehicular access and comforts within the fishing huts. A full time fishery manager overlooks the fishings, which are split into 4 beats each allowing a
maximum of 3 rods. The beats are rotated on a daily basis.
Ongoing improvements are being made to the river bed, together withthe creation of new lies, continual bank maintainence and hatchery enhancement programmes making this a
quality sought after fishery offering superb fly fishing in an idyllic setting. In addition to excellent salmon catches, the River Earn is renowned for its quality Sea
Trout; and the Lochlane and Laggan stretch remains one of the few areas still producing excellent catches of this sought after species.
The Lochlane and Laggan fishings adopt an Autumn conservation policy for Sea Trout and ceases fishing for them at the end of August.
