BOOKING
The Estate cannot accept any responsibility for the cancellation of bookings due to bad weather. Anglers under 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
RESERVATIONS
Booking confirmation should be carried by Rods whilst they are on the water and must be shown on request. Drumlanrig Castle reserves the right for two Rods to fish at any
time. This is exercised only occasionally, and every effort will be made to contact the fishing Tenant(s) should this intention be known beforehand.
CATCH LIMIT
Rods are permitted to kill the first 2 fish caught, evening and child tickets 1 fish, thereafter rods may continue to fish on a "catch and release" basis. Adult and Child
Sporting Tickets are on a 'catch and release' basis only.
METHODS OF FISHING
Fly fishing only is permitted with barbless hooks.
The use of a gaff is prohibited .
ACCESS
All gates are to be closed and roads must be unobstructed. Vehicles may not be driven across agricultural land.
FISHING HUTS & BOATS
Loch boats are available on some lochs at an additional cost (see pricelist for details). The code for the lock will be given with confirmation of booking. Goods left in
the huts during the course of the day are left at the owners' risk. At the end of the day, the boat must be returned to the boat house which must be securely locked and
barred before the rods leave. Life jackets must be worn and can be provided by the Ghillie. Any defect or damage to the boat or boathouse should be reported immediately to
the Ghillie or Estate office so that repairs can be effected.
ACCIDENTS
Fishing customers will use the boats, boathouses, stiles, crossing places, access routes, parking spaces and paths at their own risk and no responsibility will be accepted
by Buccleuch Estates for any loss, damage, accident or injury which may be sustained and which may be due to the use of the above facilities. If an accident occurs,
customers are required to inform the Estate Office and an incident form must be completed.
RETURN OF CAUGHT FISH
Once the rod limit has been reached, rods may continue to fish on a catch and release basis. Care must be taken in the release of the fish. Fishermen must record all fish
caught (including fish returned) and should advise the Estate Office after fishing. Returns should also be included on the feedback for FishPal. It is a statutory
requirement to record accurate returns of fish caught and so customers are particularly requested to be punctilious in making these returns.
Report strange goings-on immediately to the Ghillie (07765 002142), Estate Office (01848 600415) or Police (08456 005701).
