FishPal Junior Award

A new junior Award for 2015 was announced in March 2015 by FishPal's CEO, Mark Cockburn, and Tay Foundation Chairman John Wood.

The new FishPal Junior Award hopes to encourage more young people to try salmon fishing in Scotland and increase participation of existing junior anglers.

It is open to all juniors aged 18 years or under, on the 31st December of that year, who catch and release an Atlantic Salmon on a Scottish river using any legal method.

The Award

The top four junior anglers catching and releasing a salmon on a Scottish river in 2016 will be invited to attend a special day's fishing for salmon, with tuition by a world spey casting champion on the River Tay in August 2017. Each junior that attends the day will leave with a box of salmon flies courtesy of Caledonia Fly Company.

The 2015 Junior Malloch winners had a fabulous days salmon fishing with lunch on Monday 16th August at FishPonds Beat, River Tay.

The morning saw the most action with Jess losing a fish to the net on a Mackenzie Graphene FX1 rod and Jordan, also using a Mackenzie rod, caught a grilse netted by Scott. Photographs from the day can be found on the FishPal Malloch Trophy Facebook page
