Description

FISHING

Morsgail Estate is a wonderfully secluded estate of some 14,000 acres situated on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis with a very comfortable modern lodge and excellent un-spoilt salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing.
The estate and lodge are accessed by a private road two miles inland from the coast road, and this is the only road on the estate.
Fishing is available for salmon, sea trout and brown trout on both river and loch. The principal system is the Morsgail, which has two boats on the loch and two rods fishing the upper and lower rivers. There can also be exciting fishing in the Loch Reasort estuary (where the Voshimid and Ulladale rivers enter the sea), particularly in early June and July. There is a further boat on Loch Langavat and a boat for brown trout only on Loch Coirigerod.
These latter three areas can only be accessed on foot and involve a three to four mile walk.

ACCOMMODATION

Morsgail Lodge is sited in a spectacular secluded position, nearly two miles from a main road, in a south facing position overlooking Loch Morsgail. Built in 1986 in a traditional style, it has been extensively refurbished and modernized in 2006/2007 to provide very comfortable accommodation for 10 in 5 en suite double/twin bedrooms on the first floor. Additional accommodation for a further two can be made available with a sofa bed downstairs. The public rooms include a sitting room with wood burning stove, looking over Loch Morsgail, a large kitchen, dining room, drying room and utility room. It provides ideal accommodation for both fishing and family parties. Dogs are welcome on the estate, but not in the house. Kennels are provided nearby.

STALKING

Morsgail provides wonderful wild Hebridean stalking with up to five beasts per week on two beats.

GROUSE

The Estate offers walked up grouse shooting over pointers inclusive in the package and snipe and woodcock later in the season
