Lethen Week ending 5th August
At the end of the previous week large numbers of fish were reported in the Association water waiting to run. The rain on Saturday lead to a 5" rise early Sunday morning which provided some hope for the week ahead, but unfortunately it was a frustrating week with the odd small rise in river levels and several fish lost on both beats, including 5 lost by the Waddingtons in Dulsie Cottage. A blank week was avoided when Caroline Habershon safely released a 4.5lb grilse from the Kennel pool on the Dunearn Beat on Saturday.
Nairn Angling, week ending Sun 12th August
Yet another week passes with no rise in levels and the resulting no catches. Fish are plentiful in the harbour area and can be seen swimming back and forth with the tide but its too low to allow any to get up. With the season only having 8 weeks left, and no foreseeable rain on the horizon, it is looking grim for our members. With only a handful of fish caught so far this season, things can only get better.Beat catches reported
