Last updated: Monday 14th May

River levels fluctuated but withy generally good angling conditions. It has to be said thatcatches on both the North and South Esk were disappointing. Sea trout are beginning to enter the rivers in reasoinable numbers and this should be refelected in angling catches very soon. All the usual spring beats are worth fishing now that the river has risen a little. The runs of salmon are slow to materialise this year when compared to 2011.
