North and South Esks week starting 23 April.
Both rivers had good fishing conditions with the flow levels gradually dropping through the week but still remaining at good fishing levels. These good flow levels have enabled fish to move into the upper
catchment, as 2 fish have now been caught on the Kirriemuir Angling Club water, in lower Glen Clova. The weather has been moderate with a mix of light cloud, sun and a bit rain. Snow fell on the upper catchment
hills a few times and this should help keep good flow levels for a while.
The North Esk had a total reported catch of 19 Salmon. Pert 4, Kinnaber 4, Stracathro 4, Gallery 3, Morphie 2 and Canterland 2. The largest being 20lb from Pert beat, caught on a Flying C by Mr John Murray.
The South Esk had a total reported catch of 7 Salmon. Inshewan 3, Finavon 3 and Kirriemuir Angling Club (K.A.C.) 1. The largest being 13lb caught at Finavon Castle Water.
The Kirriemuir Angling Club is also promoting their junior membership which has a fee of only £10. The juniors have access to a small stocked pond to help encourage them in to the sport. No computer or phone games required, this is an actual REEL activity!!!
Always like to get your great fishing photo's so please keep them coming in. The "your photo's" has a tech issue at the moment but we aim to have it up and running asap.
