The data on this page is very kindly updated via text message by the relevant ghillies each morning. They cannot guarantee to do this absolutely every day, but will do their best and sometimes may even be able to provide a second update during the day, if a change in conditions is significant enough to justify it. We are very grateful to them indeed for agreeing to help.
A very interesting paper has been written by The James Hutton Institute on river temperatures and a model being worked on to help predict temperatures in the future and potentially new methods of helping to cool warming rivers. The 2 year project worked with stakeholders including Marine Scotland, Spey Fisheries Board, Tulchan Estate (Speyside), BioSS, SRUC, University of Birmingham. The work was funded by the Scottish Government and is available to view here.
