Description
The Invery fishings are jointly owned and are fished alternate weeks by each party with the same full time ghillie managing the whole. The Invery beat fishes 6 rods and is
one of the best known lower beats on the River Dee and lies immediately downstream from the junction of one of the largest tributary entering the Dee opposite Banchory, the
Water of Feugh.
The beat extends for some 1.3 miles with double bank fishing over approximately half its length and single bank on the remaining south bank opposite Crathes Castle beat.
The fishings are subdivided into three beats, one beat on the north bank and two beats on the south bank, each fishing two rods.
There are 12 named pools, all relatively free from trees, and the beat is well recognised for its ease of fishing, both wading and from the banks. The principle
fishing/lunch hut, with heating and toilet facilities, is situated on the south bank. Similar facilities are located on the other two beats.
There is excellent vehicular access to the fishings with a roadway alongside a large proportion of the beat. Tenants fishing this season will be requested to fish fly only
and return all salmon as per the Dee Board's catch and release policy.
