The beat follows the River Dee conservation code.

Invery is one of the best known lower beats on the River Dee. It is situated at Banchory and lies downstream of the junction with the tributary the Water of Feugh which attracts a good run of grilse and sea trout. The beat extends for approximately 3/4 of a mile. It is double banked, accommodates from one to four rods throughout the season and offers some relatively easy fishing both wading and from banks. There are twelve named pools, two fishing huts (one on each bank) and two experienced ghillies who share one full time post.
Invery rods have access to neighbouring beat, Tilquhillie and vice versa. Rotation is determined by the ghillie. Tilquhillie is a two rod south bank beat stretching approximately 3/4 mile downstream from Invery.
