Lower Beauly - 2017

The final Lower Beauly total salmon catch for 2017 was 395, reflecting what was at times a difficult season, with high water temperatures and irregular water flow. A relatively dry winter and limited snowfall led to a more challenging start to the season, nevertheless we had an encouraging early season with fair numbers of good sized salmon coming into the river in spring.

The total number of fish recorded passing through Kilmorack dam this year, 4,254, was somewhat in advance of the five year average of 3,901 which is encouraging. Despite this 2017 proved to be a more difficult year for fishing and there was a sense that the grilse were passing through the system relatively quickly.

Upper Beauly - 2017

The Upper Beauly fared relatively well this year with fairly steady catches throughout the year.
