Trout Fishing in Ayrshire

Although Ayrshire has several excellent salmon rivers, it also offers some outstanding trout fishing. Local angling clubs on each river offer wild brown trout fishing and the best way to access this is to contact the clubs direct.

With many of the local rivers being spate rivers, anglers often look for other options when the rivers are unfishable. This occasionally comes in the form of local stocked trout fisheries. There are many different options for this kind of fishing in Ayrshire from man made ponds to wild lochs, from bait fishing from the bank to casting a fly from a drifting boat.

All these options are on your doorstep during a stay in Ayrshire.
