Prospects

Anglers are encouraged to adopt a catch and release policy on the River Annan. For guidance on good practice see catch and release PDF.

Prospects for coming week

(Last updated: Friday 3rd August)

With rain since the weekend and a salmon picked up on Monday, fishing is looking up.
Good runs of salmon and seatrout have been seen and caught on nearby rivers, so this should add the Annan.
Best chance so far this season i would say!!

Grayling should be about to begin spawning and we would ask anglers to avoid targeting them specifically during this period. Any accidental captures should be returned to the water with the minimum about of handling.
