Fishing permits are sold as 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 day packages and all 4 rods must be booked together.
The outfitter will appoint an experienced guide to meet the fishing party on arrival at the lodge. The guide will assist in getting settled in the rooms, show the water and advise on best pools, supervise a fair rod rotation system and visit you from time to time to see how you are doing. Optionally, a guide can be hired for the entire fishing for a fixed price.
A self catering and comfortable lodge is included, it has a spacious living & dining room with TV, 2 WCs, seperate showerroom, 4 double bedrooms that sleeps 8 people + 2 portable rooms and has a fully equipped kitchen. On the veranda there are chairs, table and warm jacuzzi to relax in. Although it has a self catering facility the manager can arrange full service for a fixed price.
The first fishing day always starts in the afternoon at 16:00 and fishing must terminate at 12:00 noon on the last fishing day.
On the first day, please arrive between 14:00 and 16:00 at the Lodge.
Fishing hours are maximum 6 hours in the afternoon and 6 hours in the morning depending on the length of daylight (during June & July the midnight sun gives 24 hours of daylight).
Only fly fishing and worm bait allowed. Catch limits are 6 salmon and 10 trout/char per rod per day, but all hen salmon that measure over 70 cm (27 inches) must be released. When catch limits have been reached, fishing may go on but all fish must then be released.
The maximum number of rods allowed to fish at any one time are four (4). It is quite common in Iceland for 2 fishermen to share one rod, which means that 8 people can share the 4 rods.
On the last day, fishing is allowed until 12:00 noon. Please, depart the lodge no later than 13:00.
The outfitter's name, emails and telephone numbers will be included in the joining instructions which are immediately sent by e-mail after the purchasing of fishing permits.
