Description

Lake Heidarvatn has some very good Arctic char and brown trout fishing throughout the season with the real possibility of catching sea trout during parts of the season.

The average size of the trout and char caught is 1-3 pounds, but sea trout of 10-13 pounds are often hooked and landed but many more anglers have ended up with broken trout leaders.

In Martin Falklinds film "Trout Bums and Gentlemen" he is seen fishing lake Heidarvatn and catching brown trout of size 5 to 7 kilograms (the equivalent of 10-14 lbs).

The lake is 2km long and 1km wide and is fished with 4 rods and normally no fishing lodge is available for anglers, but it is possible upon request in May and June.

The town of Vik is only 8 km away which provides anglers with several good options for food and accommodation.
