Destination Iceland

One of the hardest decisions to make when planning your fishing trip to the land of fire and ice, is choosing where to go to find the best angling experiences amidst this 40,000-square-mile wilderness. In a bid to narrow down your choices, but not your options, why not take a moment to consider Lake Heidarvatn and the Vatnsa River - read more.

New Rod Range Launched

Surely the most sought after game-fish in the UK is the trout, they will test your skill and thinking and of course your patience. To present that almost weightless fly in the correct spot and catch that fish that which has eluded you for weeks or possibly months, takes skill and patience.

The best fly rod on the planet will not replace old fashioned knowledge and skill, but our new flagship Graphene single handed rods help to put the odds back in your favour - read more.

Anglers can now buy the eagerly awaited graphene rods from Mackenzie DTX in single, switch and six piece travel rods - read more.

Family Fishing

At FishPal we are keen to get more families going fishing. During the coming months more "family friendly" fishing will be added to the site.

If there is a beat we don't yet have availability for, don't forget to book a rod alert so you can be notified by email when rods are added, or give Tom Carter a call in the office on 01573 470612.

Special Hardy Reel

The limited edition 148 Hotspur Cascapedia fishing reel, the first of which was presented to HRH The Prince of Wales, has helped raise more than £70,000 for the conservation of the Atlantic Salmon.

The money has been split equally between the charities at the bequest of Earl Percy, president of AST, and the Duke of Northumberland, president of STCUK. AST will use the money to further research into why salmon numbers have been dwindling in UK rivers – with 75% fewer returning to their spawning grounds compared to 20 years ago.
