County Londonderry makes up one of the six counties of Northern Ireland and is located in the northwest of the province and lies on the west bank of the River Foyle. It also sits on the border with County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.
The county is home to beautiful landscape and important historical buildings including the famous City Walls of Derry and the Mussenden Temple.
Derry city, one of five cities in Northern Ireland. Derry, also know as Londonderry, a 6th Century City full of history, culture and creativity. It has successfully preserved its great 17th Century defensive Walls, which in fact have never breached.
A wander through the streets of Derry and you will see and perhaps hear the echoes of 1450 years of history. Visitors can marvel at the ever-changing skyline of the city or travel outwith the great walls and explore the greater area of County Londonderry with its beautiful green landscape and interesting towns and villages.
Bellaghy Bawn Bellaghy, Magherafelt. Exhibits inside this restored, fortified house of 1618 include local history, the Ulster Plantation and the writings of Bellaghy-born poet Seamus Heaney. Wheelchair access limited.
Roe Valley Country Park Limavady. The park boasts Ulster's first domestic hydro-electric power station (opened 1896). The Northern section of the park is open from the visitor centre to the Radisson Hotel. All forest areas are open - dogs to be kept on a lead.
Saint Columb's Cathedral Londonderry/Derry. Dominating the skyline on all approaches to the city of Londonderry is Saint Columb's Cathedral, which has stood on its prominent site inside the famous walls of Derry since 1633. Dedicated to the name of Saint Columba (Columb)

The Guildhall Londonderry/Derry.Located in the heart of the city, but just outside the walls, it dates from 1887. The original building, named in honour of the London guilds, was officially opened in 1890
