A bit of action in the Corbridge and Hexham areas this week suggest that fish have now begun to ascend the pass and with temperatures set to rise this week sport should be a little more spread out when levels drop to a good fishing height.
Larger flies tied on weighted tubes and fished on sinking tips or slow sinking/intermediate lines to get down to the fish will offer the best chance in colder water. Popular spinners will include the Toby and Devon Minnow which can be fished slow and deep over the lies.
