Description

Riverhill Beat
(No opposite bank agreements so the whole of this beat can be fished every day.)

Pete's Rock
A very slow stretch of water but very productive on the fly.

Enter the river 20 yards above the bench and wade in about 3 yards. Fish down for about 50 yards, casting a long line to cover the centre of the stream and beyond.

No fishing upstream of this pool.

Scar Pool
Fish from the bank on a big water, or otherwise wade in above the seat and fish down to where the run breaks.

Fish lie mainly under the far bank.

Rack
A shallow but productive pool.

The wading here is over larger stones and a stick is essential.

Where the wire crosses the river is the hot spot. Come out by the steps at the gauging station.

Coldwell
A deep holding pool, must be fished from the bank, starting 15 yards above the hut and then down to the end of the bank reinforcement.

Cindy Wells
Bank fishing only.

A nice glide, fish take opposite the small bench.

Stepping Stones
A short fast stretch, fished from the large rocks.

Hang your fly in the throat of the pool.

Harry's Wood
A lovely head of pool slowing down after about 15 yards.

Wade in no more than 2 yards or bank fish. Fish lie in the middle of the stream and take all the way down right into the tail.

Ellwood Pool
This marks the beat boundary.

A fast head slowing down quickly. Wade in along the old dam on its downstream side until opposite the head of the pool.

Wade back to the bank on a diagonal. Then re-enter 10 yards below the seats and wade in for 2 yards, fish down for 30 yards. Fish take opposite the seat and elsewhere.

Need a wading stick, not easy wading.
