The Tanyard Beat syndicate flyfish on the River Test at Broadlands. The beat is approximately a third of a mile of double bank and is an exclusive private stretch of the River Test providing excellent fishing for Brown Trout and Grayling. The beat was featured on BBC1 Countryfile.
NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THIS BEAT.
New from 2015.
Entry will be through one gate only via the Mainstone Veterinary approach opposite the Cromwell Arms making the access more user friendly.
The fishing hut, parking and toilet will be relocated to the opposite bank with a bridge to the small island with views downstream with a gazebo and chairs.
A track will be made for easy access.
There will be better access to the bridge pool with easier wading from the shallows.
And general river improvements are being made to enhance the fishing and experience of the beat.
Trout catches relate to Trout and Grayling
This historic and world famous beat lies at Mainstone near Romsey. As being part
of the lower section of the river it offers lovely glides, runs and good fishing access from both bank and river. With its abundant Brown trout stock , the anglers will also have a good chance of wild brown trout, salmon and sea-trout. We have day tickets available to be purchased on-line through Fishpal, but I have some remaing season tickets.
