Description

The fishery welcomes not only individual anglers but regularly hosts corporate days. Please contact the estate for more information.

The Bossington Estate lies between the villages of Houghton, Broughton and Horsebridge; the Houghton Club Fishing Club is immediately upstream and Compton Estate, Pittleworth and Mottisfont to the south,a catchment that is well known as the birthplace of dry fly fishing.

Sir Richard Fairey, the founder of the Fairey Aviation Company, bought the Bossington Estate from the Deverell family in 1937. Richard Fairey was an expert fisherman, who took a keen interest in his fishery and together with his Head Waterkeeper, Reg Dade, made it into one of the finest on the Test. The Bossington Estate is now owned by his granddaughter, Sarah Jane Fairey.
