A six acre lake and half a mile of chalk stream river. Well stocked with brown and rainbow trout. The average size is usually about 2lbs.
The fishery at West Wycombe comprises a six acre lake and half a mile of chalk stream, the river Wye, and some smaller feeders.
It is all set in delightful 18th Century landscaped gardens and parkland with many Palladian Temples, bridges, a wonderful Cascade and many other features.
The water is usually gin clear and abundant in insect and other life. It is well stocked with brown and rainbow trout. The average size is usually about 2lbs and they run to about 5lbs although the odd larger fish has been caught.
We restrict fishing to fly only, usually nymphs and dry flies. It is mostly done from the banks although there are two boats for use on the lake. No wading is required.
We ask that all brown trout are returned and although each rod may take up to two rainbow trout per day if they desire we do ask anglers to try and return as many as possible.
A limited number of rods are available on a seasonal basis and they each get two named days per week. Costs are £1,000 per season plus a one off joining charge of £250. These can only be booked though the Estate office (see contact details)
Day tickets may also be available on very limited basis online through this site or via the Estate office.
No days available online through us at this moment. There may be some later, at which point a booking link will appear here. To be automatically emailed when rods are added, please go to our rod alert page
